SigLab sponsors
SigLab was created by Free&ALter Soft thanks to sponsors. You can use this program thanks to their understanding that putting it in as many hands as possible could only improve it.
The first one is :
- TéléDiffusion de France - C2R
TDF is a subsidiary of France Telecom that brodcasts most of tv and radio programs in France.
The second is :
- Philips Semiconductors Rennes
Both of these companies are also using Ptolemy, we proposed them to sponsor the development of this signal analysis tool and they agreed.
This program is GPL, use wherever and whenever you want. As a politeness principal, if you intend to integrate it in a commercial product, please drop us a small mail (arnaud.laprevote@freealter.com).
We are still looking for sponsors for the next development related to Ptolemy and Siglab that we are planning. Mainly they are the following :
- Siglab :
-
- add filter design user interface to Scilab functions,
- increase integration with Scilab. Basically, we wish to redesign a brand new interface to Scilab, that would mainly based on SigLab. I want to drop the current interface that is not customisable, and that takes too much place,
- display curves on 2, 3 or more columns instead of only one,
- display at first bidimensionnal or tridimensionnal signals in the interface,
- the long, long plans are to add the same functions for multidimensionnal signal than for monodimensionnal signal. It is not clear in my mind what the full interface should be, I need proposals.
- Ptolemy
-
- why not use dia as a Ptolemy schematic entry ?
- we would like to create the infrastructure for having a Parallel Ptolemy. We have a full development plan concerning that. We proposed a RNRT project to the French industrial ministerium but it was considered as being to realistic to be funded (really I do not laugh). To the discharge of the state, they funded other interesting projects of Free&ALter Soft. But this one was too good.
- well, if we are funded we propose to finish up 0.7.2 at least on 3 platforms (irix, solaris, hpux). We have great experience in debugging things.
Obviously, if you need to integrate Siglab to any professional software or measurement instrument, we will be very happy to assist you and adapt it to your needs.
As you use or try this software, It is the occasion to present Free&ALter Soft. Free&ALter Soft is a service company specialised on free software services for companies and especially research and development centers. We exist since december 1996.
We have 3 main activities :
- free software support on commercial unixes,
- services around Ptolemy Classic (training, support, development),
- development around free software.
1. Free software support on commercial unixes
We developped our own distributions of free software for Solaris, Irix and HPUX. The caracteristics of these distributions are the following :- network oriented : setup on a server, use everywhere,
- setup software where you want (relocatable software),
- full centralised management of environment variables,
- full documentation in html, with search engine.
Please look at http://freealter.com for details or downloads.
Most of time, we sell free software setup and support services in France, Belgium and Luxembourg to companies (TDF, THOMSON multimedia, defence sector companies, ...) based on these distributions.
2. Services around Ptolemy Classic
- setup, support, development and training around Ptolemy. Our older customers apply for their third years of support showing so their satisfaction with the service.
3. Development around free software
If you thing that it is not possible, it is too expensive and it has nothing to do with existing software, look at development with and around free software.- we wrote 'Internet in the bus' software for TDF-C2R. Please, contact us for details,
- intranet developments for Thomcast (intranet helpdesk), and SNCF (reporting application),
- internet developments for various french administrations.
